Included within is the provision for 12 tonnes of snow that falls daily and enhances the surroundings in which they live.
Water attractions and theme parks in Tenerife provide a welcome distraction from spending hours on the beach. The newly constructed Siam Park Tenerife has quickly become a world famous icon amongst Water Theme Park Enthusiasts. Set in a tropical oasis which reflects the ancient kingdom of Thailand, you can enjoy some of the most breath-taking water rides ever created by man. Ride the Dragon, the Mekong Rapids or if you're ready to take the plunge, the Tower of Power for an incredible supercharged adrenaline rush! Once you enter the old world of Siam, you are taken into a mystical paradise where you will be amazed and thrilled by the beautiful surrounding scenery.
It isn´t only tourists who are attracted to this fantastic island. Over recent years, some of the world’s most famous pop stars have entertained at specially arranged concerts in Costa Adeje. The venue is a naturally formed amphitheatre with a capacity of 10,000, situated in the Adeje Golf Resort. Rod Stewart, Elton John, Simply Red have performed here in the past and in July 2011, Michael Bolton and Kenny G will perform for one night only. These events have proved an enormous hit with locals and tourists alike and as each year goes by the events grow in stature.
Day Trippers also enjoy the wonderful delights of Tenerife. The port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has become a favoured destination for some of the major Cruise Liners as a stopping off point for day trips. The normal daily schedule is docking at 6.00am for twelve hours, giving passengers the opportunity of not only exploring the capital itself but also the resorts on the island. There is also enough time to take an excursion to Mount Teide - a chance not to be missed. Recently, the largest cruise ship in Europe, Liberty of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean International, docked in the port.
